Existing Home Energy Audits- This service is provided to benefit homeowners that are interested in improving their home's comfort level and overall efficiency. With a home energy audit, a homeowner can expect:
Infrared Scanning- Many of the problems associated with an uncomfortable home with high utility bills can be discovered with the use of infrared scanning. By using a thermal camera, we can discover areas of your home that are allowing temperature changes and condensation.
Blower Door Testing- The Blower Door test is used to measure air flow. At 50 PASCALS the rate at which we depressurize each home tested is equal to about 20 mph of wind on all exterior walls and the roof. This provides us with an air leakage rate, measured in CFM. That number is then calculated with the homes over all volume to fine the homes natural air change per hour or NACH.
Duct Blasting- This test is preformed along with the Blower Door test to measure how tightly sealed the homes HVAC system is. The measurement is also measured in CFM and should not exceed 5% of the homes total air loss.
